Floor Tiling Trends

Tiles are traditionally earmarked for splashbacks in the kitchen or a clean and easy surface for the bathroom floor and walls – but there is so much more potential for this practical surface throughout your home. If you are planning a floor renovation in your home or office, why not consider a tiled floor?

Top 5 Floor Tiling Trends:

Below we have listed some of the top floor tiling trends that you can create in your home;

1. Rug Effect Floor Tiling

Using patterned tiles and mosaic tiles is a really good way of creating a rug effect on your floor. Add interest to a large floor area by having a space of patterned tiles to create a decorative panel, and then surround them with a contrasting border to mark the ‘rug’ effect.

2. Bespoke Pattern Floor Tiling

If you’d like to add extra character to a room or interior design scheme then why not add a pattern to your floor. Think about the colours in the room and select coloured and patterned tiles to suit the area. And remember, you don’t need to stick to plain square tiles!

3. Multi-Use Floor Tiling

If you have a room or space in your home or office that had different uses then split the room with different tiling. You could use different colour tiles or even floor tiles of different materials. For example, the contract between gloss tiles and matt tiles looks great, and it can split a lounge area from a kitchen/diner area.

4. Repeat Print Floor Tiling

This is similar to the pattern you would use on the rug effect floor tiling trend, but you use the pattern across the whole floor. Patterned tiles like with geometrics or a herringbone pattern, can work really well for this trend. And remember, they don’t need to be square tiles.

5. Material Mixture Floor Tiling

Mixing up the materials of your tiles works really well. Not just on the floor like we mentioned in the Multi-Use Floor tiling trend. For example, why not have a marble look tile on the floor and a glossy glass look tile on the walls? These replica material tiles look incredible and cost-effective too.
